Workshops & Demonstrations

Workshops and Demonstrations are available in full-day and half-day increments (some restrictions apply for half-days).

Staff Development & Parent Workshops:  practical hands-on activities that model DISCOVER principles.  When these workshops are used for staff development, credit is available through the University of Arizona.  Topics vary widely, with an overall goal of helping teachers and parents integrate new and effective learning techniques into the classroom and home learning environment.

Follow-Up Workshops:  designed to expand upon previous workshops.  Scheduling more than one workshop is an especially effective strategy for teachers who, after putting into practice the materials presented in a prior workshop, want to discuss, and expand upon, the results.  We have found this strategy to be so effective that we offer progressive discounts for additional workshops, to encourage a continuity of creative thought.

Curriculum Demonstrations:  experienced teachers and staff developers come to your classroom to help modify existing curricula or develop new curricula, based on multiple intelligences, problem solving, and other components of the DISCOVER Curriculum Models. For a history and description of work on curricula, see DISCOVER Curriculum Models.

Artist Demonstrations:  practicing artists who also are current or former teachers come to your classroom and work with students by demonstrating how to develop visual and performing arts.
